Medical grade weight loss is administered once weekly as an injection in the back of your arm or in your belly. This will be done with a tiny needle and is virtually painless
Results vary by the individual, however, some people start to lose weight as quickly as the first week they begin the medication. Everyone is different and requires different dosing to see results.
Results will last as long as you continue to maintain healthy habits. We also offer a low-dose maintenance option to help support you at your goal weight.

Medical Weight Loss Before & Aftercare

- Always inform your provider of all medications, including supplements you may be taking and whether there are any recent changes to your medications such as a new antibiotic.
- Always inform your provider of your full medical, surgical, social, psychological, allergy, and medication history.
- Please note you are NOT a candidate for medical weight loss injections if you have any of the following:
  - Allergy to name brand prescription weight loss medications, or any of the ingredients in the injection
  - Have a personal/family history of Medullary Thyroid Cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2, pancreatitis, diabetic retinopathy, gallbladder disease, or kidney disease
  - If you are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, and/or are breastfeeding
  - Any other conditions that your provider may deem unsafe or incompatible with weight loss injections
- Although we do not require blood testing before starting on our weight loss medications, we do feel it can be beneficial to run an annual blood panel with your primary care provider and then bring the results to your visit.
- Make sure to drink plenty of fluids prior to and during your treatment.
- We recommend you prepare a list of questions you may have about the medication or our program.
- Please attend all weekly/biweekly/monthly appointments whether virtual or in-person.
- If you are sent home with the medication, please follow the administration and needle disposal directions provided to you at your visit.
- Please rotate your injection site every week to avoid skin irritation.
- Always keep the medication refrigerated and keep out of reach of children.
- Please keep track and note any side effects you may be experiencing as well as the timing with your injection.
- We recommend small frequent meals to reduce nausea and/or indigestion.
- Stay hydrated until your urine is light yellow or almost clear.
- Focus on nutrient dense foods (think unprocessed whole foods) and protein.
- Weight-bearing exercise 2-3 times per week is recommended to maintain muscle mass.
- If you have any severe symptoms such as abdominal pain especially in the upper abdomen, uncontrolled vomiting or diarrhea, elevated heart rate, fainting, any thoughts of hurting yourself or anyone else, or any other concerning symptoms please notify us immediately and seek medical attention at your nearest emergency department.

Vitamin, Nutraceutical, and Peptide Therapy

- These injections are intended for wellness support, including vitamin supplementation, nutraceutical therapy, amino acid support, and peptide therapy. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions such as pernicious anemia or other clinical deficiencies requiring medical management. If you have been diagnosed with any medical condition that requires prescription treatment, you will be referred to your primary care physician or appropriate specialist.
- It is normal to experience mild injection site tenderness, redness, swelling, or burning. This typically resolves as the product absorbs but may last up to 48 hours.
- Always inform your provider of all medications and supplements you are taking, including any recent changes such as new antibiotics, steroids, anticoagulants, or prescription medicationsAlways inform your provider of your full medical, surgical, social, allergy, psychological, and medication history. Some supplements, peptides, or nutraceuticals may not be appropriate for certain conditions.
- Certain medications and supplements may increase the risk of bruising. These include: Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, fish oil, Ginko Biloba, garlic, ginseng, Vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, and others. These should be avoided 14 DAYS PRIOR to your procedure, if medically appropriate.
- Medications such as aspirin, blood thinners, and antiplatelet medications will also thin your blood but should NOT be stopped without discussing it with your prescribing physician.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages for 48 HOURS PRIOR to your appointment to reduce bruising and dehydration.
- If you have an active cold sore, fever blister, canker sore, shingles, bacterial infection, or active cancer in the area of injection, the procedure cannot be performed.
- Please arrive to the appointment well hydrated.
- Eat a small meal or snack before your appointment to minimize the risk of lightheadedness or nausea.
- Optimal results are achieved with routine and continued treatments. Most patients will receive injections every 1–4 weeks depending on the specific vitamin, peptide, or nutraceutical and their individual plan.
- Side effects can occur but are generally very mild. The most common symptoms include:
  -Pain, burning, redness, or itching at the injection site
  -Mild swelling
  -Temporary warmth or “flush”
  -Mild nausea or digestive changes (depending on the formulation)
  -These effects typically resolve within hours. If any symptoms persist or worsen, contact the office.
- Refrain from vigorous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, or becoming overheated for 24 HOURS AFTER the procedure.
- Continue drinking plenty of water so that your urine is pale yellow to nearly clear. Hydration supports the absorption and metabolism of vitamins, amino acids, and peptides.
- Some nutraceuticals or amino acids may rarely cause metabolic changes such as shifts in electrolytes. Notify your provider immediately if you experience:
  -Muscle cramps
  -Weakness
  -Heart palpitations
  -Dizziness
- If you have a rare blood or metabolic disorder or notice unusual symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden vision changes, or neurologic symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
- If you experience significant pain, discoloration, skin indentation, spreading redness, swelling, or any other concerning symptom at the injection site, notify the office immediately.
- If you experience signs of an allergic reaction, please call 911 and proceed to the nearest emergency department. Symptoms include:
  -Shortness of breath
  -Wheezing or persistent cough
  -Difficulty swallowing
  -Swelling of the tongue, lips, eyelids, or throat
  -Hoarseness
  -Spreading hives
  -Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
