Botox® and Dysport®

During treatment, one of our experienced providers administers a series of small injections into carefully selected muscles of the face and/or neck based on your anatomy, movement patterns, and goals. Treatment is typically quick with minimal downtime, and most patients return to normal activities the same day.
Results generally begin to appear within several days, with full results developing around two weeks after treatment. Most patients maintain results every 3–4 months, though longevity can vary depending on treatment area, dosing, metabolism, and individual anatomy.

Certain medications can thin your blood and increase your risk of bruising. These medications include Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, Garlic, Ginseng, Vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, as well as others. These medications should be avoided 14 DAYS PRIOR to your procedure if possible.
Other medications such as aspirin, blood thinners, and antiplatelet medications will also thin your blood but should NOT be stopped without discussing it with your doctor first.
Avoid alcoholic beverages for 48 HOURS PRIOR to your procedure to reduce the chance of bruising.
You may consider starting oral arnica 7-10 DAYS PRIOR to your procedure to reduce risk of bruising. Follow the directions on the bottle.
Please note that you cannot be treated with botulinum toxins if any of the following pertain to you:
If you have a personal history of Myasthenia Gravis, ALS, Huntington’s disease, Guillian Barre Syndrome, Eaton-Lampert syndrome or any other neuromuscular disorders
If you have undergone any recent cancer treatment including chemotherapy or radiation within the last 6 months
If you have an allergy to eggs or milk protein
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Notify you provider If you have a history of cold sores as it may be recommended to start antiviral medications prior to any procedures on or near your lips or nose.
Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment.

Activate muscles for 15 minutes post procedure.
Soreness and mild headache are normal.
Bruising may occur after injections, and typically resolves within 10-14 days.
Do not bend over, lie flat, or lie on your face for 4 hours.
For 24 hours post procedure:
Do not touch, massage, or manipulate the treated area
Do not apply makeup
Do not use NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin (unless advised by your doctor)
Do not drink alcohol
Do not participate in strenuous exercise
Avoid the heat or becoming excessively sweaty
Avoid wearing hats, helmets, goggles, tight sunglasses on your face
Avoid facial waxing, plucking, tweezing, or massage for one week following the procedure.
Allow 10-14 days for Botox® or Dysport® to fully set in before making any adjustments, even though some benefits are typically seen earlier. An improvement in skin appearance may begin after Botox®/Dysport® is fully set in.
Botox® and Dysport® are FDA indicated to last for about 3 months. However, everyone is unique and the longevity and amount of product required can differ for everyone.
Chemical Peels

Not all peels actually cause peeling on everyone. This does not mean that the peel is not working or that you are not receiving the benefits from the treatment.
Please note that you cannot be treated with our chemical peels if any of the following pertain to you:
If you have used Accutane within the last 6 months
If you have an active cold sore, fever blister, canker sore, or shingles
If your have undergone any recent cancer treatment including chemotherapy or radiation within the last 6 months
If you have an allergy to phenol, aspirin, or hydroquinone or any other active ingredients within our peels
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
For TWO WEEKS PRIOR to your appointment please:
Avoid microneedling or facial laser treatments
Avoid using any active ingredients such as retinol/Retin-A, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, any other AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, astringents, vitamin C or hydroquinone
Do not wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams such as Nair®
Avoid artificial tanning and sun exposure
If you are prone to developing cold sores/fever blisters or shingles, please contact us 1 week before treatment for recommendations.
Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved 24 HOURS PRIOR to their appointment.
Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment.
Although you will see some results after 1 chemical peel, for best results we recommend a series of 3-6 chemical peels.

You will be provided with an aftercare kit that will break down your aftercare instructions over the next week. Please follow the instructions carefully.
You may wash your face in the evening with cool water and a gentle cleanser provided in your aftercare kit. Please also use the towelettes provided per the instructions in the kit.
You should only use the products provided in your kit for the first week.
Your skin may feel tight the day of and for several days following your treatment.
You may also experience itching or mild burning as the peel penetrates deeper into the skin. You can help to alleviate this sensation by taking Benadryl® or Zyrtec® (for itching) and ibuprofen or acetaminophen (for discomfort) as needed, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
Avoid touching or washing your face for the first 4 HOURS.
Avoid tight-fitting glasses as pressure from the nose piece can cause the peel to deepen in that area.
As long as you are peeling you should:
Avoid wearing makeup
Avoid strenuous workouts and becoming excessively sweaty
Avoid hot tubs, pools, saunas, and steam rooms
Avoid unprotected sun exposure (SPF 40+ provided in your kit)
Fort TWO WEEKS AFTER the chemical peel:
Avoid using any other active ingredients such as retinol/Retin-A, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, any other AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, astringents, vitamin C or hydroquinone
Avoid waxing, tweezing, or depilatory (Nair®) creams
Avoid any other skin treatments or lasers
Do not touch, pick, or peel at your skin before or after peeling has begun as that can lead to scarring and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. You may carefully use manicure scissors to clip any hanging skin.
Dermal Filler & Hyaluronidase

Please plan your treatment to allow for several days or more of potential swelling, tenderness, and bruising.
Always inform your provider of all medications, including supplements you may be taking and whether there are any recent changes to your medications such as a new antibiotic.
Always inform your provider of your full medical, surgical, social, psychological, allergy, and medication history.
If you’ve had filler previously and have not had a consultation with our team, your provider will assess your existing filler before treatment and determine whether dissolving is recommended. If dissolving is recommended, your first appointment may be for dissolving rather than new filler treatment.
Certain medications can thin your blood and increase your risk of bruising. These medications include Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, Garlic, Ginseng, Vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, as well as others. If you have an active cold sore/fever blister, canker sore, shingles you will need to postpone treatment. If you are prone to developing cold sores/fever blisters or shingles, please contact us 1 week before treatment for recommendations.
If you have recently used the medication Accutane®, it is recommended to postpone treatment until at least six months after stopping the medication.
Notify your provider of any personal history of autoimmune disease or other proinflammatory conditions.
Please note that you cannot be treated with dermal filler if any of the following pertain to you:
If you have an active cold sore, fever blister, canker sore, shingles, bacterial infections, or active cancer in the area being treated
If you are currently taking antibiotics or within two weeks of taking antibiotics
If you have undergone any recent cancer treatment including chemotherapy or radiation within the last 12 months
If you are immunocompromised or are taking medications that suppress your immune system
If you have had any procedures/conditions that could put you in an inflamed state 2 WEEKS BEFORE your procedure. These procedures/conditions include any surgeries, dental procedures, immunizations, illnesses (bacterial, viral, or fungal)
If you have a lidocaine, tetracine, benzocaine, or any other anesthetic allergy.
If you are allergic to bee stings or bee venom (you may be required to perform a skin sensitivity test to ensure your are not allergic to the dissolving agent)
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment.

Do not manipulate, push, or rub injection sites within the FIRST 72 HOURS.
We recommend sleeping on your back exclusively for the FIRST 72 HOURS
Avoid any other procedures that would result in the manipulation of your face for TWO WEEKS AFTER your treatment. These procedures include chemical peels, microneedling, RF microneedling, laser, facials, massage, waxing, or any other similar treatments.
Exercise should be avoided within the first 24-72 hours as it may increase swelling.
For 24 HOURS post procedure:
Do not touch your face
Do not apply makeup
Avoid strenuous exercise or becoming excessively hot and sweaty
Do not use NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or aspirin (unless advised to do so by your physician)
Do not drink alcohol
You might have some redness, swelling, and pinpoint bleeding that should resolve within several days. Bruising may occur and may last up to 14 days.
Certain areas of the face such as the under eyes, will swell more than others. Swelling and bruising may last several days to weeks.
If you received hyaluronidase, any overcorrection resulting from the loss of your own hyaluronic acid will usually be temporary and is expected to resolve within a few days. The breakdown of the dermal filler will be permanent.
As a consequence of swelling and the action of the hyaluronidase, you may notice some asymmetry. The final result is usually not complete until 2 weeks. You may require additional dissolving treatments to reach desired outcome.
You may elect to ice the area post treatment but must do so very carefully. Use an ice pack with the fabric side against the skin or wrap a soft plastic ice pack in a wet thin towel. Apply the ice pack approximately 30 seconds on, and 30 seconds off. Icing too vigorously can cause frostbite and scarring. You may apply a cold compress to the area for 20 minutes per hour, and you may do this hourly for up to 3 days.
Your skin may be more sensitive during the first several days after treatment. Use gentle skin care products during this time and wait 3 days before using harsher treatment products such as retinol, or AHA.
Use arnica gel or tablets as directed on the bottle to reduce bruising
Avoid any procedures/conditions that would make your body inflamed 2 WEEKS AFTER your procedure this would include any surgeries, dental procedures, immunizations, illnesses (bacterial, viral, or fungal), or antibiotic use.
If you notice any significant spreading redness, swelling, blanching (whitening of the skin), bluing of the skin, or any increased pain out of proportion to the mild tenderness that can be expected from a procedure, or any other concerning symptoms please contact the office immediately.
If you have any signs of severe allergic reaction including: shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, difficulty swallowing, swelling of the tongue, eyelids, lips, hoarseness of the voice, spreading hives, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, please contact 911 and go to your nearest emergency department.
Dermaplane Facials

Consider arriving with a clean face and makeup removed. If you are unable to do so, no problem, all of our facials include a double cleanse prior to your treatment.

Immediately after your treatment, your skin may feel sensitive for a few minutes. After this, you will notice smooth, glowing skin. However you will still need to provide a bit of extra care for your skin for the first few days.
Minimize makeup application for 24 hours following your facial to allow your skin to breathe.
Avoid using active ingredients within 24 HOURS of your facial. Active ingredients include retinol/Retin-A, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, any other AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, astringents, vitamin C or hydroquinone.
After 24 HOURS, you can continue to use your regular moisturizer, hydrator, or skin rejuvenation products. Your skincare products will penetrate more effectively after your dermaplane.
Avoid becoming overly hot or sweaty, swimming, intense exercise, or saunas/jacuzzis for 24 HOURS AFTER your treatment.
Limit your sun exposure for the first 3 days and apply at least SPF 40 to your skin daily. Be sure to reapply every two hours if you will be in the sun to protect yourself from damaging UV rays.
If any area peels or flakes, do not pick, scratch, or scrub at the skin. The skin will exfoliate on its own.
Do not wax your face within ONE WEEK AFTER your treatment.
Continue regular facials every 4-6 weeks to maintain healthy, glowing skin.
Cystic Acne/Intralesional Steroid Injections

Bruising, mild redness, swelling, and discoloration can all be normal for several days-to-weeks after the procedure so please plan any major life events according to this healing period.

Following your procedure, you may experience mild soreness, tenderness, or pinpoint bleeding at the injection site. This should resolve over the next several days.
Rarely, hypopigmentation (lightening) and thinning of the skin (atrophy) may occur. This may or may not resolve over the next several months.
You may elect to ice the area post treatment but must do so very carefully. Use an ice pack with the fabric side against the skin or wrap a soft plastic ice pack in a wet thin towel. Apply the ice pack approximately 30 seconds on, and 30 seconds off. Icing too vigorously can cause frostbite and scarring. You may apply a cold compress to the area for 20 minutes per hour, and you may do this hourly for up to 3 days.
For 24 HOURS AFTER your procedure:
Do not apply makeup or other skin care products to the treated area
Do not exercise or perform other strenuous activities
Do not use NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or aspirin unless advised by your doctor
Do not drink alcohol
Avoid becoming excessively hot and sweaty
Avoid any procedures/conditions that would make your body inflamed 2 WEEKS AFTER your procedure this would include any surgeries, dental procedures, immunizations, or illnesses (bacterial, viral, or fungal) whenever possible.
Depending on your condition, you may or may not need additional injections. If you do need additional injections, we recommend injections every 4-6 weeks until you reach a desired outcome.
If you experience any significant pain, discoloration, skin indentation, spreading redness, swelling, or any other concerning symptoms please notify the office immediately.
If you have any signs of severe allergic reaction including: shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, difficulty swallowing, swelling of the tongue, eyelids, lips, hoarseness of the voice, stomach pain, spreading hives, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, please contact 911 and go to your nearest emergency department.
Keralase™ Hair Restoration

Avoid hair dyes, chemical treatments, and harsh styling products for at least ONE WEEK prior to your appointment.
You must remain out of the sun or use sun protection on your scalp (SPF or a hat) for ONE WEEK before and after each treatment.
Wash your hair and scalp the morning of the procedure to ensure your hair is clean from any styling products. Please arrive with your hair dried.
We recommend bringing a hat to protect your scalp from the sun following the procedure.

You may experience a mild to moderate erythema (redness) or a warm stinging / sunburn-like sensation on your scalp for several days post-treatment.
After the treatment, you may notice hairs in the telogen phase (resting phase) may be shed due to the slight trauma from the laser.
Do not wash your hair for at least 24 hours post-treatment to allow the serum to fully absorb into your scalp
Use a gentle shampoo and avoid harsh hair treatments for ONE WEEK following the procedure. We do recommend the Kerafactor Shampoo to boost and maintain results.
Sleep with your head elevated to 45 degrees for 3 days if possible. Change your pillowcase daily or lay on a clean towel each night.
Protect your scalp from direct sun exposure by wearing a hat or using sunscreen on the treatment area
Avoid strenuous activity for a minimum of 48 hours as sweating increases infection risk.
Do not pick, scratch, excessively rub or scrub the treatment area. It is imperative to allow natural healing to minimize post-treatment complications. Treat the skin gently as if you have a sunburn. Care should be taken to prevent trauma to the treated area especially for the first few days after.
Avoid any other hair treatments for at least 1 - 2 weeks after your treatment or until the skin has completely healed.
You may take acetaminophen (Tylenol®) for post-treatment discomfort or Benadryl® / Zyrtec® if you experience excessive itching (histamine reaction).
Results are progressive. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve individually desired results. We typically recommend at least 6 treatments.
If you experience any side effects, such as prolonged redness or swelling, histamine reaction, blisters, burns, or signs of infection please contact your practitioner immediately for proper assessment and further care instructions.
Kybella®

You should expect swelling and redness. You may also experience bruising, pain, tenderness, numbness, induration, and areas of firm nodules. These symptoms normally last around 7 days, but for some, may last up to 4 weeks. Some patients will experience numbness for longer than 4 weeks.
You may elect to ice the area post treatment but must do so very carefully. Use an ice pack with the fabric side against the skin or wrap a soft plastic ice pack in a wet thin towel. Apply the ice pack approximately 30 seconds on, and 30 seconds off. Icing too vigorously can cause frostbite and scarring. You may apply a cold compress to the area for 20 minutes per hour, and you may do this hourly for up to 3 days.
Do not participate in strenuous activity and avoid extreme temperatures of heat (i.e. Jacuzzi, hot showers, exercise, etc.) for 3 days following treatment.
Do not scratch, pick, or traumatize the area in any way. Do not massage or manipulate the injection sites.
You may apply your normal skin care regimen and sunscreen, 4 HOURS AFTER your treatment.

Reduce your salt/sodium intake for 3 days post treatment to avoid excess swelling.
Sleep with your head elevated to avoid excess swelling.
Call the office if you have any difficulty swallowing, crusting, or scabbing, asymmetry of your smile or any other unusual symptoms.
Kybella® treatments are done in a series, for best results we recommend a series of 2-4 treatments spaced about 2-3 months apart.
Genius® RF Microneedling

Please plan your treatment to allow for several days of potential swelling and redness of the skin. Please allow TWO FULL WEEKS for full resolution of symptoms.

Redness, edema (swelling), soreness, and a sunburn sensation can be normal up to 7 DAYS post procedure. Rarely, some patients experience redness for up to 2 WEEKS.
You may experience an itching or mild burning sensation as your body’s healing processes take effect. You can help to alleviate this sensation by taking Benadryl® or Zyrtec® (for itching) and ibuprofen or acetaminophen (for discomfort) as needed, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
Your skin may feel dry, peel or flake. You may notice a “sandpaper” texture a few days after treatment. This is normal; it is the treated tissue working its way out of your body as new fresh skin is regenerated.
Bronzing, crusting, and small dark spots are a normal part of the healing process. They will slough off on their own usually within 7 days after treatment. Please do not attempt to exfoliate.
If you develop any areas of raw skin after treatment, keep them moist with an emollient such as Aquaphor® or Bacitracin®. You do not need to apply band-aids, but keep the areas moist and do not pick at them. They will heal very rapidly on their own.
The laser may leave a grid-like pattern on your skin, which is completely normal and will resolve over days to weeks.
Sometimes small papules/pimples can arise post treatment. If this occurs please call us for treatment advice.

Immediately after your treatment, your skin may feel sensitive and may appear pink. After this, you will notice smooth, glowing skin. However you will still need to provide a bit of extra care for your skin for the first few days.
Minimize makeup application for 24 hours following your facial to allow your skin to breathe.
Avoid using active ingredients within 24 HOURS of your facial. Active ingredients include retinol/Retin-A, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, any other AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, astringents, vitamin C or hydroquinone.
After 24 HOURS, you can continue to use your regular moisturizer, hydrator, or skin rejuvenation products.

Some supplements, peptides, or nutraceuticals may not be appropriate for certain conditions.
Certain medications and supplements may increase the risk of bruising. These include: Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, fish oil, Ginko Biloba, garlic, ginseng, Vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, and others. These should be avoided 14 DAYS PRIOR to your procedure, if medically appropriate.
Medications such as aspirin, blood thinners, and antiplatelet medications will also thin your blood but should NOT be stopped without discussing it with your prescribing physician.
Avoid alcoholic beverages for 48 HOURS PRIOR to your appointment to reduce bruising and dehydration.
If you have an active cold sore, fever blister, canker sore, shingles, bacterial infection, or active cancer in the area of injection, the procedure cannot be performed.
Please arrive to the appointment well hydrated.
Eat a small meal or snack before your appointment to minimize the risk of lightheadedness or nausea.

Optimal results are achieved with routine and continued treatments. Most patients will receive injections every 1–4 weeks depending on the specific vitamin, peptide, or nutraceutical and their individual plan.
Side effects can occur but are generally very mild. The most common symptoms include:
-Pain, burning, redness, or itching at the injection site
-Mild swelling
-Temporary warmth or “flush”
-Mild nausea or digestive changes (depending on the formulation)
-These effects typically resolve within hours. If any symptoms persist or worsen, contact the office.Refrain from vigorous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, or becoming overheated for 24 HOURS AFTER the procedure.
Continue drinking plenty of water so that your urine is pale yellow to nearly clear. Hydration supports the absorption and metabolism of vitamins, amino acids, and peptides.
Some nutraceuticals or amino acids may rarely cause metabolic changes such as shifts in electrolytes. Notify your provider immediately if you experience:
-Muscle cramps
-Weakness
-Heart palpitations
-DizzinessIf you have a rare blood or metabolic disorder or notice unusual symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden vision changes, or neurologic symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
If you experience significant pain, discoloration, skin indentation, spreading redness, swelling, or any other concerning symptom at the injection site, notify the office immediately.
If you experience signs of an allergic reaction, please call 911 and proceed to the nearest emergency department. Symptoms include:
-Shortness of breath
-Wheezing or persistent cough
-Difficulty swallowing
-Swelling of the tongue, lips, eyelids, or throat
-Hoarseness
-Spreading hives
-Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
